Plyometric training is very important in athletics. If you want to jump higher, run faster, and be quicker, you must use plyometric training as part of your training. In this video I demonstrate "prancing," a plyometric exercise to improve your jumping for basketball.

Plyometrics and plyometric training for basketball is probably the most talked about aspect with regards to jump training and how to jump higher. Plyometric training works because it takes advantage of your nervous system by "shocking" it into creating more 'power.' More power means a higher vertical jump, quicker first step, and more speed.

Prancing is one of my favorite plyometric exercises because it focus on quick contacts, forward propulsion, and takes advantage of the elasticity (springiness) of sports.
